SIAW Vol. 1 Chapter 15 Part 1
Chapter 15 – Discussion with Misha
After dinner, I went back to my room and lied down on the bed, thinking.
First of all, even if we had to go back to the village, I wanted to return to Ronda quickly and start working as adventurer. I would rise up to rank E in this town, then travel to a different one.
Ronda was located in a remote region, so there wasn’t much information to gather here, and I would stand out quickly too.
I didn’t need to use money back at the village, but finance was going to be an issue here. There weren’t high-paying requests in this guild, though. Even if there were, they would just make me stand out more, anyway.
The greatest problem of all, anyway, was Misha. If we started going on adventures together, she would come to know my secret.
It would be too inconvenient, if not impossible, to keep it hidden from her as we spent more and more time together. It would be really difficult to hide Sil from her too.
In that case, I should just come clean with it. If it turns out she can’t keep the secret, I could absolutely not allow her to come with me.
Fortunately, Ranga wasn’t coming back anytime soon.
Realizing that having the talk with Misha here was definitely better than doing it at the village, I got off my bed and headed to her room.
◆ ◆ ◆ ◆
Misha, alone in her room, was recalling when the group was attacked by the Forest Wolf pack.
Misha thought that Tenma was just skilled at using Throwing and Storage, but wasn’t particularly strong. There were rumors that he could use Earth magic too, but it wasn’t very useful for an adventurer anyway, so she didn’t pay much attention to them. She was positive that Tenma could never defeat Ranga one-on-one.
That was the past, though.
Misha thought about Tenma’s actions during the attack many times, and every time her tail squirmed.
Right at the time, someone knocked at her door.
“Who is it?”
“It’s me, Tenma.”
Tenma came exactly when Misha was thinking about him, much to her embarrassment. She could tell her face was flushed red. Misha rushed to open the door.
“Tenma? What is it?”
Tenma noticed that her face was a bit red.
“I’d like to talk about what we’re going to do from tomorrow. Is this a good time?”
“Of course.”
“Should we talk in my room?”
“No, my room is fine. Come in.”
Misha opened the door wide and invited Tenma inside.
As Ranga had said, the bed in her room was slightly larger, and there was a small desk and chair too.
Misha sat on the bed, so Tenma took the chair. He also secretly used barrier magic, so that no sound would leak out of the room.
Tenma noticed that Misha became quiet and started talking.
“I want to talk about what we will do as adventurers. I told you that I needed time to think about it, right?”
(Is Tenma going to say he won’t let me join him, after all…?)
Misha, anxious and worried, spoke up.
“Yes, I remember.”
“I said that I wanted to be on my own, right?”
(Oh no, he’s really going to refuse…!)
Misha, shocked, replied.
“Y-Yes, I remember…”
She then looked down at the floor.
(How did I manage to reply? I feel like I’m going to cry~)
Tenma, noticing that Misha was fighting to hold back her tears, felt restless.
He tried his best to keep his composure.
“We can go adventuring together, but there are conditions.”
(Conditions? If I agree, I can go with Tenma??)
Misha answered immediately, all giddy.
“Anything! I’ll take any condition!!”
Tenma couldn’t help but think how daring it was to say something like that to a man.
“Don’t speak of my secrets to anyone else!”
“Of course!! Not a word to anyone!!”
Tenma, sighing at how quickly and easily she replied, continued.
“Don’t tell anyone about my abilities and skills!”
“Not a single word!!”
Misha answered without hesitation and nodded.
(Eh? Isn’t it the same as the first condition?)
“…………….”
(…no lewd things?)
Misha then asked a question to Tenma.
“Any other conditions?”
“…..no.”
(Eh!? That’s all? No lewd requests?)
For Misha, Tenma’s conditions were easy to agree to, and she was relieved to hear that they didn’t involve anything lewd. They were too easy, though, so she was a bit perplexed.
She started talking again, overjoyed.
“We can go on adventures together, then!!”
“Not a word to anyone…includes your family too, okay?”
“Promise!!”
After eagerly answering, Misha sighed in relief.
(If it was only conditions like those, you could have said that from the beginning~!)
◇ ◇ ◇ ◇
I was still in Misha’s room…preparing to tell her about my secret.
“All right then…I’m going to tell you a little about my secret now.”
“Please!”
For the love of…! Please take this seriously!
“I have skills that I didn’t tell you about yet.”
“Yes, I know. A little.”
“Eh, you do!?”
“You have magic-type skills, and Physical Boost too.”
“How did you know!?”
“You used Earth Magic to fix the pot. You probably have the Zero Chant skill too. Physical Boost, because it’s impossible to shoot pebbles with that power with only the Throwing skill.”
“You noticed all of this by yourself?”
“The other villages probably noticed too. But it’s taboo to ask about skills, so!”
Holy crap! The whole village knows!?
I see…they all…know…
“Er, one more condition. If you think I have skills I didn’t tell you about, please let me know.”
“Sure!”
“Okay then, I’ll show you another skill I kept secret. No one can know about it, okay?”
“My lips are sealed!!”
She answers so easily…will this really be okay? Oh well, here goes.
If I show her my Room, I will be able to live more comfortably. I said “Room” out loud, on purpose, and activated the spell.
A door appeared in front of us, surprising Misha.
“This is ‘Room’, a Lifestyle Magic spell.”
“I’ve heard about it! But it’s mythical stuff, no one can use it!”
“I see. Hmm…it wasn’t easy, sure, but…mythical…?”
I pondered a bit. It hadn’t been easy to learn, but it was still Lifestyle Magic. It shouldn’t be impossible to acquire.
“More importantly… I wonder if someone other than me can go inside. Want to try?”
Misha nodded furiously, her eyes sparkling.
I opened the door and went inside by myself first. The door was still open, but Misha was glazing left and right, restless.
I went back out, and she muttered in a dejected tone.
“When you went in, the door disappeared…”
“Let’s try going inside together, then.”
More aggressive nodding. The door had disappeared, so I casted Room again.
Misha tried opening the door, but couldn’t. I opened it and urged her to go inside, but she failed to go through.
“I guess no one other than me can go in, then?”
Misha’s ears and tail drooped, defeated.
“Let’s try one more method.”
I took Misha’s hand and tried going through the door: this time, we were successful.
