The next day and the day after that, I watched the rest of the preliminary matches, and once all the matches were over, the tournament fixtures for the main individual rounds were announced.
“It looks like I won’t face any of you in the first round.”
“Finne and Iris will have to compete against each other if they advance.”
Finne and Kuzel were exchanging such words.
The first round of the tournament would be a tough one, but it’s not impossible.
In any case, if all three of them win, they would all meet at some point.
Well, there’s also a team competition, so I hope they don’t do anything reckless.
“Now then, we’ve confirmed the tournament fixtures, and what are we going to do after this… there’s no matches or anything, so should we go to the guild to receive a request? Or we could just have some free time.”
“I’m going to go accept a request.”
“I’ll go with Finne.”
“Me too. I need to move around.”
Finne, Iris, and Kuzel seemed to be interested in taking requests.
Finne had been very active in accepting requests recently, perhaps because she wanted to raise her rank.
I can guarantee that both Finne and Iris will reach A-rank, so it might be a good idea to take the promotion exam at some point.
And then I turned to face the other four.
“What about Suzuno and the others?”
“Is it okay if I stay with Haruto-kun?”
“Me too. I don’t have anything to do in particular.”
Suzuno and Epyhr answered.
“Asha, you’re going to follow Iris, right?”
“Yes.”
Then it would be Finne, Iris, Kuzel, and Asha together.
It’s unlikely something will happen, but I’m a little worried since I won’t be able to accompany them.
As I was thinking that, Zero made a suggestion.
“Haruto-sama, let me accompany them.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m sure. Please leave it to me.”
“Then I’ll leave it to you.”
“Understood.”
Thus, we were split into two groups.
After leaving the arena, we parted ways with Finne and the others, and decided to look around parts of the city we hadn’t seen yet.
Suzuno, Ephyr, and I first headed for the square.
Perhaps because a tournament was being held now, there were many food stalls and other stalls as well.
The aroma wafting through the air made my stomach growl.
“You want some?”
“Sure!”
“Yes!”
Suzuno and Epyhr cheerfully nodded.
We then decided to eat our way around the various food stalls.
I bought some for Finne and the others as well and put them in my storage in subspace. Since I could stop time, I could keep the food in a freshly prepared state.
While shopping, I found a specialty of the Imperial Capital called Galzioyaki.
It was a food like Okonomiyaki*, but unfortunately, there was no such sauce in this world. (T/N: Japanese pancake)
Soy sauce was sold at the Bacchus Trading Company, but I could not find the okonomiyaki sauce I was used to.
“I need some sauce…”
“You’re right…”
Suzuno agreed with my words.
It seemed that we were thinking the same thing.
The sauce on the Galzioyaki was a refreshing sauce.
Well it’s not bad.
“I’ve made mayonnaise, but…”
“Come to think of it, there’s mayonnaise.”
It just doesn’t go well with this sauce.
Feeling a little disappointed, however, we decided to enjoy our stroll since there were other tasty dishes.
As the sun was setting, we returned to the inn and had a chat in our room, when Finne and the others returned.
“Welcome back, everyone.”
“Haruto, I’m back.”
“I have some souvenirs for you all.”
“What is it?”
Iris came close to me and her eyes sparkled.
Finne, Kuzel, and Asha also seem to be interested.
“Yes, have you all had something to eat yet?”
I asked. All five shook their heads and said they hadn’t eaten.
“Well, that’s good to know.”
I said, and pulled out a dish I had bought from a street vendor from the storage in a different space.
Steam rose from the food, and the smell filled the room.
“Here. We’re full from all the food we bought. This is for all of you, so please eat.”
“Thank you!”
“Yay!”
“Thank God for this. I was just getting hungry.”
“This is a treat…”
Finne, Iris, Kuzel, and Asha thanked each of us and began to eat.
“Zero, please eat too. There’s one for you, too.”
“Is it okay?”
“Yeah, don’t worry about it, just eat.”
“Thank you very much. Well then.”
Zero began to eat as well.
