TWEM Vol. 7 Chapter 11 Part 2
I picked up the sword I had let go of earlier and put it back in its sheath, heading in the direction Gyuray had been blown away.
Gyuray slowly stood up, spitting out some blood.
“Ugh, guh…”
“Wow, you’re still alive. Now, I’m going to make you spit it out.”
Gyuray glared at me and opened his mouth.
“You think I’ll talk?”
“…You aren’t?”
I was joking, but Gyuray’s face wasn’t smiling.
Well, I wasn’t trying to make him laugh.
Gyuray ignored my words and readied his spear. Magic power began to gather in the spear he held.
“Can you avoid this attack?”
“I don’t know? I’ve never seen it before, so I don’t know.”
“Hmph, this is the only time you can pretend you’re so relaxed.”
As I stared at Gyuray’s serious expression, I put my hand on the hilt of my sword.
There was a short pause. Then, Gyuray moved.
Before I knew it, the tip of the spear was approaching right in front of me.
There was no time to activate magic, so there was only one thing I could do.
Drawing my sword.
With lightning speed, my sword knocked the spear away from Gyuray and threw him off balance.
“Don’t think this is the end!”
However, Gyuray quickly regained his balance and thrust a second time before I could attack.
He passed right next to me as I dodged, leaving a line of wounds on my cheek.
“Tck! Are you going to dodge this too?! You monster!”
“I know that, but it’s rude to call me a monster!”
Gyuray launched a series of attacks from there, but I avoided or deflected them all.
The wound on my cheek had already healed with the automatic healing process, so I could say that I was essentially unharmed.
“This is the end!”
Gyuray stepped away from me and raised his spear into the air.
Lightning struck the spear, and it became charged with pale blue electricity.
Gyuray then took a stance to throw it, grinning.
“—Rising Bolt!”
The spear that was thrown approached me, gouging out the earth.
That amount of magic power must have been poured from all of Gyuray’s magic power.
But that’s not enough—
“It still can’t reach me.”
I sheath my sword and prepared to draw it, charging it with magic power. Then I closed my eyes, imagined cutting everything off with this sword, and slowly opened them.
“—Cherry Blossom Flash – Extreme!”
At that moment, the sword flashed, cherry blossoms danced, and space shifted.
Gyuray’s attack was cut off along with his spear.
This technique cut off the target grasped with space-time magic at the spatial level.
“What!? My technique… but!”
Gyuray raised an anxious voice, not expecting his attack to be broken.
Even so, Gyuray charged forward in an instant and got behind me.
However, I had expected that.
I could grasp the space around me with space-time magic, and could fully grasp the enemy’s attacks with Detect Magic and Detect Danger, so this was not a problem for me.
I kicked him as if to counter.
“Gah, ha…”
Gyuray was sent flying after receiving a kick to his chest, and his body crashed into a rock.
Then I spoke to him.
“At least I can protect my own back.”
“Are you sure?”
“Who– what!?”
The next moment, I was kicked away by someone and rolled on the ground.
I regained my balance and stood up, readying my weapon, to see who had attacked me.
There was a person dressed in black, his face hidden by a mask.
“…Who are you?”
He answered my question.
“I am an apostle who serves Lord Chronos, Eleos.”
“Chronos…?”
I tilted my head at the name, which I had never heard before.
The apostle thing was also intriguing.
“It is disrespectful for someone like you to call our Lord God Chronos by his first name. You deserve to die.”
The one who called himself Eleos was furious that I had called Chronos by his first name.
“You said your name is Eleos? And is that God the same one worshiped by the demons?”
“Yes. Unlike the foolish Gods who sealed our God Lord Chronos. Lord Chronos is the one who should stand at the top of the Gods!”
Now I understand. The god Chronos he was talking about was definitely the Evil God.
“So? Since you suddenly appeared and attacked me, you must be Gyuray’s ally, right? I have something to do with him, so I would appreciate it if you would not get in the way of my capture.”
“Gyuray is not an ally, he is just being used to revive Lord Chronos… but I still have something to do with him. To revive the Demon King Alogis, you see.”
Tch, he’s not going to back down that easily.
Also, it seemed like they’re planning to revive the first Demon King Alogis… What on earth is that all about?
Then Gyuray finally woke up.
“What on earth am I…I see. That guy――!?”
Gyuray shook his head, looked at Eleos and shouted in surprise.
“W-Why are you here?”
“Gyuray. I came to save you.”
“I see. I’m sorry for bothering you. Please punish me however you see fit!”
Gyuray knelt on the ground and bowed to Eleos.
“It’s fine. You’re alive. Leave the rest to me and step back.”
“I understand.”
Gyuray glared at me.
“I’ll pay you back someday.”
“You don’t have to pay me back. Well, you were lucky to be saved before you died.”
“Remember that. I’ll definitely defeat you.”
Gyuray said that and ran deep inside the enemy camp. He really spoke like a pushover…
I asked Eleos, who had been looking at me the whole time.
“Hey, I don’t know what an apostle is, but is the Demon King Alogis an apostle like you?”
“You’re quite perceptive, aren’t you? Yes. We serve God and act on His will. That’s why we need Alogis to be resurrected.”
“I see. But I can’t let him be resurrected, and I’m sure he’s also thinking of resurrecting the Evil God someday, right? I’ll stop him.”
“You’re calling the noble One an Evil God?! I’ll make you regret being alive!!”
Eleos seemed to have a very low boiling point, as he was getting so angry just from the words Evil God.
“Don’t get so angry. I’m just telling you the truth.”
“You bastard!”
“Hey, what happened to your polite tone?”
Perhaps taken aback by what I said, Eleos cleared his throat.
He seemed to have calmed down, but I could sense the extent of his anger.
“I apologize for what I’ve said. But your fate has been decided. You must die here and be offered to our Lord Chronos.”
Eleos turned his palm toward me.
