TWEM Vol. 7 Chapter 13 Part 2
After Tendo and I were done with our reconnaissance, we returned to the Demon King’s castle.
There, I told Fran about the discussion I had with Tendo.
“If the Evil God is resurrected, we will have to cooperate with the humans to deal with it. The Evil God must hate this world itself. So, Haru and Ten, can I leave it to you?”
Tendo and I nodded at Fran’s request.
“Gyuray and the other apostles might attack us after they recover, but I’ll handle it on my own until you guys return.”
“I have teleportation magic so I’m sure I’ll be able to return soon, but I’m still worried.”
“Don’t worry. I’m still the Demon King.”
“Ha, that’s right. I’ll be back soon.”
Just as I was about to activate the teleportation magic, a huge explosion roared, and dense magical power flowed into the Demon Castle.
It was coming from the direction of the floating castle.
“What is that…?”
I looked at Fran as I blurted out these words, but she shook her head, not knowing what I was talking about.
Then, Ellis reported.
《Master. The First Demon King Alogis has been resurrected.》
—Huh? Eleos had indeed said that he would resurrect Alogis, but this is way too soon.
《It seems like the enemy has made the resurrection of the First Demon King their top priority. With Eleos defeated, I assume they thought they needed more forces to oppose Master.》
Tch, just when I thought I could return to Perdis.
I clicked my tongue at the bad timing and told Tendo and Fran.
“Sorry, but we’ll have to postpone our return.”
“Haru, what do you mean? Does it have to do with this magic explosion?”
“Yeah. The cause of this explosion was the First Demon King Alogis.”
The two of them froze upon hearing my words.
But Fran returned to her senses and started questioning me.
“I-I-Is that really true!?”
“I don’t want to believe it either, but it’s true. They probably needed a strong fighting force.”
“Haruto, do you think the enemy will attack right away?”
I replied “I don’t know” to Tendo.
It’s possible, but if he’s just been resurrected, he probably won’t be in perfect condition.
But more importantly, Alogis was sealed by a High Human like me, right?
If they were as strong as me, they wouldn’t have created a seal that could be broken so easily…or rather, I think they would have just killed him.

“Haru, what’s wrong?”
“Haru, is something wrong?”
I didn’t reply to them and instead went outside the castle.
Fran asked me as I stopped there.
“Haru, why are you in such a hurry?”
Instead of answering, I stared silently in the direction that Alogis was heading towards – the direction of the floating castle.
And soon, Fran and Tendo seemed to notice as well.
A powerful magic reaction was approaching.
“What is this magic power…?”
Just after Fran muttered that, thick clouds covered the sky.
Finally, I spoke up.
“The First Demon King has arrived.”
Clouds swirled, and a demon, shrouded in darkness, descended from them.
The magic power he carried and the amount of magic hidden within him was greater than Eleos.
Is this really what you’d expect from the First Demon King?
I spoke to the man looking down at me.
“Don’t you think this is a bit hasty for a greeting? The First Demon King, Alogis.”
“Demon King Alogis…”
Fran muttered as he looked at Alogis.
Ignoring her, Alogis glared at me and spat out the words.
“So you are the one who defeated Eleos.”
“They were the ones who started the attack. You have no right to complain.”
“You seem to be good at talking.”
“Yes, thank you. You’re bothering me, so can you please go away?”
“Go away? I think this is my castle.”
Alogis said while looking at the Demon King’s castle, but Fran spoke up.
“It’s my castle now. Even if you’re the first Demon King, I’m not going to give it up so easily.”
“I see… who are you?”
“I’m the current Demon King, Fran Vampir.”
“… a vampire, and not just any vampire, but a True Ancestor.”
Alogis seemed to see through Fran’s true identity in an instant.
I also used Appraisal on Alogis to check his status.

Alogis said, looking at me.

Alogis snorted at Fran’s words.

Fran muttered, “I see,” and lowered her eyes.
After a moment, Fran opened her eyes, and I could sense a strong will in her eyes.
There was nothing more to say, so everyone fell silent.
Countless magic circles were then deployed around us, and Alogis swung his hand down without a word.
Various dark magics flooded upon us.
“There’s no way I will let you hit us.”
I quickly deployed the Aegis space-cutting barrier and blocked it.
Alogis muttered in admiration as he saw us unharmed.
“I see… you blocked my attacks so easily. You seem stronger than those of that era.”
Alogis was probably comparing me to those who fought him before he was sealed away.
“Haru, I’ll fight here too.”
“I’ll fight too. I’m still a hero.”
I shook my head at Fran and Tendo’s words.
Fran aside, the First Demon King would be too much for Tendo.
Besides, it’s easier for me to fight one-on-one.
“I’m more than enough here by myself.”
“But we’re up against the First Demon King! Don’t say you’ll fight alone!”
“Haruto, Fran is right!”
Fran and Tendo were adamant, but I asked them as I looked at Alogis.
“Can you fight that thing and say you won’t lose?”
“It’s…”
Tendo hesitated.
Alogis snickered at this.
“Just as that High Human said, you guys can’t defeat me.”
“That’s not necessarily true.”
Alogis smiled as Fran spoke.
“What’s so funny?”
At that moment, Alogis released a strong pressure on us.
Fran and Tendo turned pale and took a step back.
“Unlike you guys, this man doesn’t flinch under my pressure. He has the right to stand before me.”
“I don’t need that right. But that’s how it is. You two step back and leave the rest to me.”
“But…”
Tendo still seemed to want to say something, so I told him honestly.
“You’re a hindrance.”
“–!…Okay. I’ll do what I can.”
“Please do that.”
My eyes met Fran’s.
“Shit, it looks like I’m not strong enough right now. Sorry Haru, but I’ll leave this to you.”
“Okay.”
I stare at the two of them as they leave.
“You’re not going to attack?”
“No need for a surprise attack.”
“I see.”
And so Alogis and I faced off.
