TWEM Vol. 7 Chapter 14 Part 2
As I avoided the black hands extending from the Gehenna Gate, I thought of a way to deal with it.
I wanted to do something about this using magic, but to destroy that spell, it would consume a fair amount of magic power.
If I used too much magic power, it might even hinder the battle that would follow, but I couldn’t sit back and do nothing.
So, I used my skill of All Creation to create a spell or skill that could destroy it.
Light magic was the only known weakness of the Supper of Madness. If so, the magic that Alogis used, Gehenna Gate, would be similar.
I formulated the magic.
The image was, of course, light. But simply imagining light was not enough. It was a holy light that could destroy evil.
And I spun the name of the magic.
“—Heavenly Fire.”
As I spoke, a thin, strong beam of light threaded through the gaps in the clouds and poured to the ground.
The number of the rays kept increasing and eventually reached a volume that could be called a rain of light.
Then, as the light touched the black hand reaching out from the gate, it vanished like dust.
“What!?”
Alogis cried out in surprise at the sight.
The rain of light hit the black arms one after another, until finally, there was nothing but the gate.
“You guessed wrong, didn’t you?”
As soon as I said that, a crack appeared on the gate, and it collapsed instantly.
“I never thought the Gehenna Gate would be broken so easily.”
“I’ve seen similar magic before. Once I found the magic weakness of the gate, I was able to break it right away. So, First Demon King, have you run out of options? Then I’ll go first.”
With that, I charged in.
I got in range, lowered my hips, and took a stance to draw my sword.
“There are plenty of openings!”
Alogis swung his sword at me, but it cut through the air.
Just as he said, it was an attack that accurately hit an opening, but unfortunately.
“That’s an afterimage.”
“–!? When did that happen? Guh!”
A strike from the back as he drew his sword.
I thought I’d caught him completely off guard, but Alogis deflected it.
I lost my balance, and Alogis swung his sword down from above.
I dodged by twisting my body, and Alogis’s attack cut through the air.
Having missed his attack, Alogis’ stomach was left wide open, so I regained my balance and kicked him, then I jumped backwards, putting a lot of distance between us.
Alogis was sent flying after my kick, but he quickly regained his stance.
I then pointed my hand at Alogis, who was glaring at me.
I gathered magic power in the tip of my index finger, and Alogis, as if sensing it, smiled fearlessly.
“You won’t be able to defeat me with magic of that level.”
“I know that.”
As I said this, I fired a magic bullet.
The attack came at Alogis at high speed, trying to pierce him.
Alogis waved his hand, and an earth wall was formed instantly.
He was probably trying to defend himself, but this attack penetrated it easily.
“–Guh?”
The severed arm flew through the air, and Alogis dropped to one knee on the ground.
“Ugh, what’s going on…?”
“I mixed in the power of light magic.”
“You hurt me like this with just light magic…”
“Hey, you haven’t forgotten who you are, have you?”
“…I see, I see.”
Alogis’ race was Majin, an evolved race of demons, and he was an Apostle of the Evil God, and he even had his blessing.
In other words, holy magic and light magic were his major weaknesses.
“What a troublesome power.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“Tch, I’ve just been resurrected. It’s going to take time to regenerate…”
Alogis muttered.
As expected, he would regain his strength as time passed, and become an even more difficult opponent.
I reached for my sword to finish him off, but―
《Master, dodge!》
At the same time I heard Ellis’ panicked warning, I sensed a massive magic reaction above my head.
Shit, this is bad.
I activated the space-cutting barrier Aegis around my body and quickly escaped the scene using space teleportation.
Immediately, a pillar of darkness rained down from the sky in the spot I had just been in.
The ground collapsed, and the aftershocks hit me, but thanks to the barrier I was unharmed.
Just as I was about to confirm what had happened, I heard a voice.
“I can’t believe that the First Demon King, Alogis, was defeated to this extent. And you managed to avoid my attack. Are you really human? …No, you’re not human. Are you a High Human?”
I turned towards the sky where the voice had come from, and saw a handsome man floating there.
Three pairs of six jet black wings sprouted from his back.
Alogis glared at the man and spat out in a bitter tone.
“Damn, Lucifer… Don’t do anything unnecessary.”
“Unnecessary, you say? But you had just been resurrected, and it looked like you were going to lose to that High Human over there, so I gave you a little hand…”
“But that was unnecessary.”
The one called Lucifer sighed in exasperation.
“That’s why the Demon King is like this… Well, never mind. By the way, High Human. What’s your name?”
This guy. He looked at me and knew right away that I was a High Human.
And his name was Lucifer. So he’s a fallen angel and the king of devils?
I didn’t reply to Lucifer’s words, but continued to appraise him.

“Hey Lucifer. I want to ask you something.”
I said to Lucifer.
“What is it?”

“Do you know the devil Schwartz?”
I mentioned the name of the devil that destroyed the holy city. Lucifer nodded.
“Schwartz… Ah. You mean that black devil?”
It seemed he knew him.
“Was he a formidable opponent to you?”
“Yes. He was strong… Well, to me, who has been resurrected like this, he’s just a weakling.”
“I see. That’s all I need to know.”
Then Lucifer tilted his head.
“Did you kill him?”
“He was the one who started the fight.”
“I see. I’m looking forward to it.”
Alogis yelled at Lucifer, who was smiling.
“Lucifer! This guy is my prey!”
“I know, Alogis. I’m going.”
As Lucifer was about to leave, he turned around and told me.
“That’s right, in one month, Chronos will be resurrected. You will no longer have the means to stop him. And the world after his resurrection will once again be in an age of chaos. Let’s meet again in a month for the Holy War, where the fate of this world will depend.”
“Remember, I will kill you.”
Those were the last words Lucifer and Alogis left.
“Holy War? What do you mean—”
I asked, but the two of them vanished with a teleportation spell along with the army of fallen angels.
“Damn it!”
I cursed as I was left alone.
