Chapter 15 – What’s Next
After Lucifer and Alogis departed, I went to meet Fran and Tendo. When I arrived at the throne room where they were, I briefed them what had just happened and Lucifer’s last words, and Fran’s eyes opened wide.
“Ha, Haru. Is that true…?”
“It is true. It seems that the resurrection of the Evil God Chronos is imminent.”
Fran collapsed weakly on the throne.
Tendo asked me.
“Haruto, can I ask you something?”
“What is it?”
“How strong is that apostle called Lucifer? I’m sure you’ve appraised him, Haruto.”
You really know me well.
“Just like Ten said, I was curious as well. Can you tell me?”
It seemed that Fran was pretty curious as well. Well, that’s only natural.
I had planned to tell them from the beginning without hiding anything.
“First of all, Lucifer’s level is 700.”
“Wha-700…”
The two were speechless, so I continued to tell them about his unique skills, the skills he possessed, and his titles.
When I finished telling them everything, their faces turned pale.
“He has surpassed the First Demon King, Alogis…”

I wonder what the chances of winning would be if I were to fight Lucifer.

If I fought the Evil God, I would definitely lose.

“Fran. And Tendo.”
I looked them both in the eye and told them what I had to do now.

“Humanity and the demons who are on Fran’s side must join forces to face the Evil God. I don’t think we can overcome this crisis if we don’t…”
“But the gulf between the demons and humans is wide. Won’t it be difficult?”
Fran was certainly right.
“That’s true. But Fran, why do you think Tendo and I came all the way here?”
Fran looked surprised.
Tendo spoke up.
“We came to create a place for peace negotiations with the demons.”
“It’s as Tendo said. Well, even though we say we’re creating a place for negotiations, you can be sure that humanity won’t refuse to join forces in the current situation.”
Fran pondered over what I said.
“…I understand. Haru is right. Please wait a moment. I’ll go convince my subordinates.”
With that, Fran left the room.

A few minutes later, we were in the castle square.
Many demons had gathered, and they were all wondering why they were there.
However, when Fran appeared, the noise of the crowd stopped.
Fran turned to me and Tendo.
She looked somewhat anxious, but Tendo and I looked at each other, then looked at Fran and nodded to indicate that everything was okay.
Fran smiled at us and addressed the crowd.
“My people, I thank you for gathering in response to my call. As in the recent battle, the Four Heavenly Kings, Lauren and Gyuray, have betrayed me. Their goal is to defeat me and resurrect Chronos, the Evil God…and the apostles of the Evil God have already appeared.”
The crowd erupted when she said that the Apostles of the Evil God were enemies.
Fran continued.
“Among these apostles, we have confirmed the presence of Alogis, the First Demon King.”
Then confused voices from the crowd said, “Isn’t Lord Alogis on our side?”
However, Fran shook her head.
“Indeed, the First Demon King, Alogis, fought for the demons and built this country. But at the same time, he was also an Apostle of the Evil God Chronos and served his purpose. The goal of the Evil God, who has yet to be resurrected, is unknown, but from what Gyuray and the others have said, it is likely to be to take control of the world. And, although it is only a guess, he must also be planning to take revenge on the gods who sealed him away. Of course, if a battle between the gods begins, we will not be able to escape unscathed.”
The last thing Fran added was a common understanding among us as well.
From the square, voices could be heard saying, “There’s no way you can defeat a God,” “How dare you defy the First Demon King…” and so on.
Although it was a reasonable reaction, Fran’s expression turned sad for a moment.
But it only lasted for a moment, and in the next moment her expression returned to that of a Demon King.

Silence reigned over the place.
“If we win this battle, our courage and sacrifice will be passed down to the future, along with glorious history.”
Fran took a breath and looked around the crowd.
“Do you want to abandon your pride as a demon, your family, and your comrades, and live in peace until the destruction of the world? Absolutely not! Stand up, my proud compatriots! Stand up, brave warriors!”
After finishing her speech, Fran looked around with a slightly uneasy expression.
The crowd was still silent, and just as she thought this was no good―

A huge cheer roared.
Fran looked surprised and relieved at the reaction.
I stood next to her and called out.
“That’s good, they’re willing to fight.”
“Yeah. The Evil God is our enemy. I thought for sure they’d run away…”
I looked out at the crowd again.
I could see their fighting spirit, determination, and courage on their faces.
The cheers still continued.
Fran looked at me.
It seemed like she wanted to say something, but…
“What’s wrong?”
“Haru, Ten. I need both of your consent.”
Tendo and I didn’t say anything and urged her to continue.
“I want to tell everyone who you two are. And that we’re thinking of joining forces with humans. Is that okay…?”
