TWEM Vol. 7 Chapter 17 Part 2
Going a little while back, around the time when Lucifer and Alogis left Haruto and returned to the floating castle.
“Alogis, I heard you lost to a human?”
A beautiful woman with long black hair that reached down to her waist called out to the two as they returned.
Alogis muttered her name with a clearly displeased expression on his face.
“Eleonora, huh…”
Eleonora. One of the apostles.
“Hmph, that’s because I’ve just resurrected and my magic powers haven’t recovered fully.”
“Alogis, isn’t that just an excuse? Weren’t you the one who insisted on fighting in the first place?”
Alogis had no response to Eleonora’s reasonable argument.
“Eleonora, will it still take another month for Lord Chronos to be resurrected?”
Eleonora put her hand to her chin as Lucifer asked.
“That’s right… We’re doing our best to remove the seal, but it still takes time. It’s a seal of the gods, after all.”
“I see… It seems like we need to gather more offerings.”
Breaking the seal on Chronos required a huge amount of energy.
The easiest form of energy to collect was “negative emotional energy.”
And the best way to collect it was to attack villages of demons and humans.
For that reason, the subordinates who worship the Evil God were collecting energy, which were called offerings, and were gathering in large numbers at this floating castle.
“We should gather our strength until Lord Chronos is resurrected. Is that okay?”
“I have no objections.”
“Yes.”
Eleonora nodded in satisfaction at their nods, and asked Alogis the human he had fought.
“Now that I think about it, which human did you fight?”
“What was the name of this human?”
“He’s definitely a threat, isn’t he?”
“That’s true. But Eleonora, he’s not human. He’s a higher species of human, a High Human. And he’s probably the strongest I’ve ever fought. His name was Haruto, I think.”
“Haruto. I’ve never heard that name before. I don’t know if it was a coincidence that a powerful person evolved, or if it was the gods’ instigation… We should tread carefully.”
“Eleonora, as the first demon king, I can say that he is stronger than the hero.”
“Is this Haruto the only strong one?”
“I don’t know. But at least, the current Demon King is no match for me. I don’t know about their allies.”
Alogis shook his head, and when Lucifer turned to him, he also shook his head and said that he didn’t know
“I see… Either way, we cannot be defeated. I’m counting on you two to carry on.”
A few days later, the apostles had gathered around the round table in the floating castle.
There were four chairs in total.
There were four apostles of the Evil God in total.
They were commonly known as the Four Heavens.
—[Fallen Angel] Lucifer
—[Time Heaven] Eleonora
—[Demonic Heaven] Alogis
—[Compassionate Heaven] Eleos
One of them was missing, but Lucifer and the others didn’t care because that was the extent of his power.
After confirming that they had all gathered, Lucifer nodded.
“Well, let’s get started – right off the bat, it seems that humans and demons have joined hands and formed something called an allied army to oppose us. Armies have been organized in every country and are gathering at the Demon King’s castle.”
“What about the numbers?”
“According to the scouts’ reports, the number of enemies that have begun to gather is roughly 100,000.”
“100,000? What about the quality of the enemy soldiers?”
“I saw it too, and they’re no match for us. We’ll just crush them and be done… However, I didn’t see any of those High Humans or anyone with similar powers there. There’s no guarantee that there are any powerful people there, so we need to proceed with caution.”
Alogis and Eleonora both nodded at Lucifer’s words.
“I owe that High Human a debt. I’ll kill him with my now fully restored powers.”
“I would be wary of him… but either way, the resurrection of Lord Chronos is imminent. When that happens, the High Humans will be no match for him. Let’s enjoy his final battle to the fullest.”
Lucifer and the other three smiled.
And so the battle for the fate of the world and the resurrection of the Evil God Chronos drew nearer…
