TWEM Vol. 8 Chapter 6 Part 2

Back on the battlefield, Tendo and his friends, the heroes trained by Haruto, were fighting monsters.

“Sorry, Koji! There are three of them over there!”

“Got it!”

Tendo cut down the enemy in front of him with his holy sword and quickly veered to the side, and the monster’s attack hit the spot where he had been.

While the other heroes were fighting monsters with a few people, Tendo was fighting dozens of monsters alone.

“Koji, what happened in the Demon Realm? I was surprised you’ve gotten so strong.”

One of his party members, Shinonome Aoi, who had seen Tendo’s battle, muttered in admiration.

“Well… Haruto really pushed me hard in the Demon Realm… I even had to fight Disaster-class monsters alone.”

Tendo looked off into the distance, but he wasn’t letting up on his attacks.

He dodged the attack from behind and came to support Shinonome.

After fighting for a while, he saw his classmates being blown away with force.

Although they were no match for Tendo, the heroes were very strong. There were only a few monsters that could blow them away so easily and inflict injury on them.

Tendo and Shinonome turned in that direction, where they saw a one-eyed giant rampaging.

“That monster is a Cyclops, right?”

“Cyclops? Looks really strong…?”

“A Disaster-class monster. Haruto defeated it with one blow before.”

“That one, you see… well, that’s typical of Haruto.”

Seeing Shinonome nod in understanding, Tendo nodded in agreement.

But the Cyclops was currently being attacked by magic by Tendo’s party’s vanguard, Mogami Shinya, along with Asakura Natsuki and the other heroes from the same party.

However, it would take a long time to defeat it that way.

“I’ll defeat him.”

“Can you defeat him? I’ll go with yo—”

“I’ll be fine by myself. Aoi, I want you to work with Shinya and Natsuki and the others to defeat the surrounding monsters.”

“…Got it.”

Seeing Shinonome nod, Tendo charged towards Cyclops.

Just then, Cyclops swung the club he was holding down at Mogami.

Because he was off balance, he was unable to dodge, and just as Mogami prepared himself — Tendo appeared in front of Mogami and deflected the club.

At the sudden turn of events, the Cyclops glared at Tendo warily.

Even so, Tendo continued to talk to his friends as usual.

“Shinya, are you okay?”

“Thank goodness, Koji.”

“I’m glad I made it in time. Leave this to me and focus on the others.”

“No, the enemy is Disaster-class! Going in alone is too reckless! Rely on us!”

Tendo shook his head at Mogami’s reasonable words.

“Leave it to me. I’ve gotten stronger thanks to Haruto’s training. Is Natsuki okay?”

Tendo turned back to Natsuki.

“Yes. Then should we go to rescue the others?”

“That would be helpful.”

“Protecting everyone is what a hero is all about!”

“That’s right.”

Mogami put her hand on Tendo’s shoulder.

“Sorry. I’ll leave it to you.”

“Yes!”

After making sure his companions had left, Tendo turned to Cyclops and readied his holy sword.

“Well, I need to show Haruto that I’m not going to lose!”

With that, Tendo ran towards the Cyclops.

The club was swung down at Tendo, but Tendo easily dodged the large, slow attack.

The ground was shattered by the club, sending various pieces of different sizes flying everywhere.

Tendo used the scattered rubble as a foothold to approach the Cyclops’ face.

The Cyclops caught sight of Tendo approaching with the holy sword in his hand—or so it thought.

However, a large piece of debris hid Tendo’s figure the next instant, and the Cyclops lost sight of him.

The Cyclops looked around, but Tendo was nowhere to be seen.

Where had he disappeared to? It was in the sky, his blind spot.

Tendo had used the debris to jump in that instant.

The holy sword in Tendo’s hand shines with magic power.

“—Sacred Judgment!”

The blow cut the Cyclops in half.

What he had told Shinonome and Mogami was true. Tendo had acquired the power to defeat even Disaster-class monsters with a single blow.

Tendo sheathed the holy sword and took a breath, once again realizing how strong he had become.

“Koji, you can do it!”

Mogami, who had been watching the whole thing, instinctively ran over to Tendo.

Not only Mogami, but the other classmates fighting around him felt the same.

“You’re amazing, Tendo! You’re our leader after all!”

“I can’t believe you defeated a Disaster-class monster so easily!”

“That’s all thanks to training. More importantly…”

Tendo’s words had the classmates looking at the horde of monsters approaching again and readying their weapons.

Even if they had defeated just one Disaster-class monster, there were still more Disaster-class monsters on the enemy’s side.

“Let’s overcome this together!”

“Yes!”

The heroes once again charged into battle with the monsters.

Watching them fight bravely, the morale of their allies rose.

A little ways up in the sky from Finne and Tendo, there was a person looking out over the battlefield.

It was Eleonora, one of the [Four Heavens],  the [Time Heaven].

“Wow, taking down a Disaster-class Cyclops in one hit. That kind of strength seems to be that of a hero. The others around him seem to be heroes, but does this mean he’s a cut above them? There seem to be other strong people as well.”

Eleonora smiled as she saw Finne and the others in action.

Although only a few hours had passed since the start of the war, the Evil God’s army was being pushed back.

They should have had the advantage in numbers to begin with, but at this rate, most of the monsters would soon be defeated.

If that happened, their master, Chronos, would be held responsible.

“…It can’t be helped. It’ll be better for the future if we destroy the hero, so let’s get moving.”

Eleonora slowly descended, landing in the center of the monster and fallen angel army.

As she walked slowly towards Tendo, the Evil God’s army made way for her so as not to get in her way.

Their instinct told them not to oppose Eleonora.

Naturally, Tendo was the first to notice her approach.

Warned by the suspicious movements of the monsters, he stared in the direction of the strange occurrence.

Then he spotted Eleonora walking towards him, and Mogami, Asakura, and Shinonome also stopped moving, noticing this.

Eleonora didn’t seem to mind their vigilance and spoke to Tendo in a casual tone.

“Nice to meet you, Hero.”

“Who are you…? Or maybe an apostle?”

“You’re right. I’m Eleonora, one of the apostles of the Four Heavens, the Time Heaven.”

Everyone around became wary of Eleonora’s self-introduction.

Meanwhile, without taking his eyes off Eleonora, Tendo spoke to Mogami, who was nearby.

“Everyone, leave this to me. I want you all to deal with the monsters.”

“But you can’t do it alone, Koji!”

Tendo nodded at Mogami’s reasonable words.

“Yeah. I probably can’t defeat her by myself. I understand that. But I have to fight so that the majority of us can survive.”

“Then we’ll fight together. We’re friends, right?”

“Shinya. And everyone else too. Please leave this to me. It’s more important that we all reduce the enemy’s fighting power, even if just a little, than my life.”

After a moment of silence, Mogami quietly nodded.

“Okay. I’ll leave this to you.”

“Yes. I’m counting on you, Aoi and Natsuki.”

“Yes. Don’t die.”

“We’ll get rid of the monsters right away and come to help you!”

“I’ll wait.”

Turning their backs on Tendo, Mogami and the others left Eleonora and headed towards where the monsters were gathered.

Eleonora had been watching the whole thing in silence, but now she finally spoke up.

“Are you sure? Do you think you can defeat me on your own?”

To be honest, it didn’t matter much to Eleonora that Mogami and the others were there, and the only one she was interested in was Tendo.

However, being left alone like this made her feel insulted and not happy.

Tendo was nervous as he was glared at, but then she heard a voice from behind her.

“No. He’s not alone.”

“That’s right! We’re here♪”

“Yeah. I can tell from her presence that she’s a formidable opponent. I’m looking forward to it.”

“Same old as always, Kuzel. But she’s more than enough of a match.”

Tendo turned towards the voice and saw Finne, Iris, Kuzel, and Charlotte.

“Finne! And everyone was in charge of different things.”

“I sensed a bad presence.”

“Finne’s right. You can’t defeat her alone, right?”

“That’s…”

Just as Iris said, Tendo didn’t have enough power to defeat Eleonora, an apostle of the Evil God.

The chances of winning were virtually zero.

“I can’t face Haruto if I let the hero die. Besides, I’m looking forward to fighting a strong opponent more than anything.”

“Kuzel-san…”

“Hero. Let’s work together and defeat her.”

“Charlotte-san… that’s right. Please lend me your strength.”

Finne and the others nodded at Tendo’s words and readied their weapons.

Seeing this, Eleonora smiled.

“No matter how many you are, it’s meaningless. Do you seriously think you can defeat me?”

Dense magic power and murderous intent overflowed from Eleonora.

They hit Tendo and the others like a heavy, oppressive pressure, and cold sweat ran down their backs.

But they had been training with Haruto.

There was no way they couldn’t withstand this level of intimidation and murderous intent.

Seeing this, Eleonora smiled with satisfaction.

“Oh, you can withstand this? Very well. I’ll teach you to your heart’s content what fear is.”

Thus began the battle between Finne and the others and the [Time Heaven] Eleonora.
