Within the VRMMO-RPG THE NEW GATE, the veteran player Shin was suddenly transported 500 years into the future, into a world that had become reality.

After returning from the hidden dungeon beneath the Wraith Plains, Shin and his party traveled to the multiethnic nation of Kurikara to rest and do some sightseeing. As it happened, the city was in the midst of the “Wrought Iron Battle Festival,” a grand celebration of blacksmithing and martial arts.

However, strange incidents began to occur—citizens suddenly flying into violent frenzies without warning. Sensing something was amiss, Shin launched an investigation and soon discovered that the weapons involved had been laced with trace amounts of curses.
