BBYW Vol. 2 Interlude Part 13 (WN)
Interlude – Dietrich Maxwell’s Adventure
Part 13 – Unexpected Weakness
I had sunk maybe my 7th ship when the Lion King crew started retreating.
Grace had apparently taken out their boss.
“She tosses me out, then takes the best part for herself? The ego of that woman…”
I grumbled to myself as I jumped on the ship where Grace was. The destruction of so many ships had filled the sea with wreckage and dead bodies: there was no shortage of footholds.
“Ooh, great work out there! Flying just like a big mosquito!!”
“Tch, is that all you can say after treating me like a cannon — whoa!!”
After taking a better look at Grace, I couldn’t help but let out a yelp. The female pirate as strong as a demon from hell was completely in the nude. Her skin, too white to belong to a woman of the southern seas, was basking in the sunlight.
“W-What’s…wrong with you!?”
Now, I wasn’t some virgin boy or anything. I visited women of the trade, and also fooled around with the maids working at the margrave residence.
I was definitely not so innocent as to get flustered by the sight of a woman’s naked body.
The woman before me, however, was that monster.
Her well-developed chest, especially compared to her short stature.
Her slender hips, which made me wonder where her insane power came from.
Her skin, as white as a pearl, despite all the blood.
Everything that told me that the monster was, beyond the shadow of a doubt, also a “woman”, was there, in plain sight.
“Why the hell are you naked!? What happened to your dress!!”
“I can’t swim with that thing on, can I? So I took it off!”
“I guess, but…”
I looked away from the naked Grace, trying to find something for her to wear. The ship’s deck was scattered with pirate corpses. Their clothes were all mixed in the puddles of flesh and blood they had become, so there was no hope of reusing them.
I couldn’t find anything else, so I took off my jacket and put it on Grace’s shoulders.
“Oh?”
“…what.”
“It’s been a while since I was last treated like a woman! I’m pretty seriously happy, you know?”
“…really.”
Looking at Grace hopping around merrily, holding my jacket, I felt all my resentment for being tossed in the air disappear.
I was still trying to wrap my head around this weird feeling, when the White Demons’ ship approached.
Gourd popped up on deck and beamed a wide smile at us.
“That was one hell of a feat, you two!”
“Haha! Good of you to come to pick us up!”
“You guys weren’t half bad either. So, are we going to pursue them?”
Gourd shook his head at my question.
“We just have one ship, so I doubt we could.”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
I nodded and boarded the White Demons’ vessel.
Grace had returned immediately and disappeared below deck, probably to take a bath.
I looked at her bare legs as she went, without any special meaning, then turned towards Gourd.
“Now that no one stands in our way, let’s get to that island already. I can’t wait to go back and start drinking.”
“Huh?”
Gourd looked at me, puzzled. The rugged pirate’s expression was just like he had seen a mirage or something.
“Sir, why are you all red like that? Don’t tell me that you got excited at seeing grandma na—”
“NO WAY!!”
“GWEAH!?”
I kicked Gourd overboard, into the sea. While the other crewmen immediately started to pick him back up, with trained expertise, I went and sat down under the mast.
