TWEM Vol. 7 Chapter 3 Part 2

When Tendo and I returned to the mansion, we gathered everyone and told them about what we had discussed with the kings of each country.

After I finished speaking, Char was convinced.

“Well, we can’t start unless we know if the Demon King truly desires peace.”

“Yeah. If that isn’t the case, the worst possible thing would be that it could just lead to a war.”

When Iris sighed, Finne asked.

“By the way, Haruto-san. What preparations do you need to make? Do you need food or something?”

“I’m curious too.”

Ephyr also seemed to be curious.

“Even if it’s preparation, the food is no problem since there is a different space for storing food, and the camp will be safe as long as we set up wards.”

“Haruto, then there’s no need to prepare anything, right?”

I shook my head at Suzuno’s words.

“What do you mean by preparations, then?”

“You’re going to the demon territory, right?”

“That’s right.”

Following Suzuno, everyone nodded their heads in agreement.

“If there were humans in demon territory, they would definitely attack, right?”

And when I said that, everyone was shocked.

“Well, my outfit is all black anyway, so I’d probably be fine. But Tendo’s outfit really does look like a human hero, so you’ll be able to tell he’s human in an instant.”

“That’s true.”

Mogami, Shinonome, and Asakura looked at Tendo’s current appearance and nodded in agreement.

“Well, that’s the thing. I need to do something about Tendo’s appearance, or rather his equipment.”

“Do you have any ideas…?”

Tendo looked at me strangely, but I wanted him to feel at ease.

I’ve almost already decided what to do.

“I’ll make some new equipment. However, I still haven’t decided what to do with the holy sword… Ah, that’s right!”

I suddenly had an idea and smiled.

When Finne saw my expression, she spoke.

“Oh, you’re up to something again, aren’t you?”

“Finne is right. Haruto, you’re probably thinking of something stupid again.”

Finne and Iris were both a bit harsh, weren’t they?

“Then I’m going to hole up in my room for a little while. Tendo, look forward to it, okay?”

“Huh? Ah, yeah. In moderation please.”

With Tendo’s voice in the background, I headed to my room.

Then, I immediately took out the materials from the storage in a different space.

Rare metal items were lined up on the table.

I mixed them together using my skill “Molding”.

What was created through this was a hard metal like mithril and orichalcum.

“Yosh! Now I just need to smelt it and make some armor.”

The metal slowly changed its shape while emitting crimson sparks.

After a while, what was completed was a divinely pure white armor.

But it was too flashy as it was.

“I’ll apply various magics to it and…”

After working on it for a few hours, it was almost completed.

However, the armor no longer looked as divine as before. On the contrary, it was pitch-black to the point of being very confusing.

“Finally, just make the color change depending on the user’s magic power and it’s complete!”

Thus, Tendo’s armor was completed.

“Haruto, why is it so black…?”

This was the first reaction I got when I showed Tendo the armor.

I could see his mouth twitching slightly.

He must be happy. I am sure he is.

He’s looking at me like he wanted me to explain, so I’ll give him a brief explanation about this equipment.

“As I said earlier, if you look like a hero, one will be able to tell you’re a human in an instant. I think you’ll be able to tell about its performance by appraising it, but first, check how comfortable it is.”

“Ah, ah. That’s right…”

Tendo nodded and immediately tried it on.

Then he opened his mouth in a surprise.

“This is lighter than the previous armor!”

That’s what it should be.

It used mithril and orichalcum, and also used magic to make it lighter.

It also has extremely high conductivity of magic, and could be said to be the best metal in this world.

Unfortunately, you couldn’t create this alloy unless your Molding skill was level 10, so there’s probably no one else who could create it.

Although Tendo was wearing such wonderful armor, the reactions of those around him were not so good… or rather, it was a bit withdrawn.

“He’s not a Hero, he’s a Dark Knight.”

Everyone nodded at Iris’ words.

“Haruto, can’t you change the color…? I don’t want to become a hero who looks like he’s fallen into darkness…?”

Tendo turned his eyes on me expectantly.

“Don’t worry, you’ll understand once you channel your magic into the armor.”

Hearing my words, Tendo was half-convinced, but he poured magic power into the armor anyway.

Then, the black armor gradually began to shine white, giving it a divine feel.

Everyone’s gaze was focused on Tendo’s armor, but there was a blank moment in silence as everyone remained silent.

“…What is this?”

After a few minutes, these were the words Tendo finally spoke.

I answered his question.

“What do you mean? It’s armor.”

“It’s not that, no, it is, but isn’t it incredibly divine?

“Well, it’s because of the material. It’s an alloy of orichalcum and mithril.”

“But as expected…”

“I see. Isn’t it so divine that there are no words for it?” I retorted.

“No, that’s not true!”

“Calm down.”

“I-I’m sorry.”

Tendo calmed down and I urged him to appraise the armor.

Tendo and everyone else also activated their appraisal skill and checked the armor.

Holy Demon Armor

Halves damage when receiving physical and magical attacks.

Basic physical abilities during battle have been doubled.

By channeling magical power, the color of the armor can be changed from white to black, or from black to white.

In white, the attack of the holy attribute, the light attribute, and the defense performance are tripled.

In the case of black, the strengthening of the basic physical ability is tripled. Magic power and aura properties change.

The armor’s description was like this.

“…Hey, Haruto.”

“What’s wrong?”

“You could just switch abilities without changing colors, couldn’t you?”

As Tendo said, the ability to change colors was not necessary.

However, if it stayed white all the time, he would stand out in demon territory, and if it stayed black all the time, he wouldn’t look like a hero.

When I explained this to him, he reluctantly agreed.

“Good. Well then, I have other things to do before I leave…”

I thought about it again.

But, as I mentioned earlier, food and other things necessary for the trip were already in storage in another dimension.

So there was nothing in particular that I needed.

“That’s right…”

Then I looked at Tendo.

Tendo noticed that I was looking at him and asked, “What’s wrong?” He tilted his head.

“Is there anything you would like to do, Tendo? If not, I think you’ll have free time until we leave.”

“Hmm. I don’t think there’s anything special to do. If I’m free until we leave, I think I’ll have Zero to train me.”

Then, Zero looked at Tendo and smiled.

“Okay. Then I will train the hero a little.”

“Thank you.”

Then Shinonome, Mogami, and Asakura said they would train with him, but Tendo refused.

“Why not?”

“That’s right, Tendo. We also want to become stronger.”

“Mogami is right, we want to be strong too!”

Shinonome, Mogami, and Asakura said this, but Tendo shook his head.

“Haruto and I are going to the demon territory. That’s why I want to do special training without everyone else so that I can survive the fight alone.”

After hearing Tendo’s reason, the three of them looked at each other and nodded their heads in agreement. Well, let’s have these guys train after we leave.

If Tendo died, it would be very bad for my sleep, and that’s a good thing to keep in mind. I didn’t know what’s going to happen in the demon territory, and I won’t always be around.

I didn’t have anything in particular that I wanted to do, so I decided to make magic tools that could be used in demon territory until I left.

In this way, we each spent our time freely until the day of departure.
